The clock is high fiber plastic painted to look like metal. It comes with a plastic casing at the back to house the battery as well as a hidden plastic hook behind that fits perfectly on a nail. The clock is self set up. Just put a battery in and hang it on a nail. It's a very good investment and would also make a nice gift for someone.
